Important Changes to 2008 Summer School Program
The budget situation has required the district to consolidate and streamline the 2008 Summer School program as follows:

• Summer School will not be offered for general education students in grades 1-5.
• Summer School will be offered for qualifying middle-level and high school general education students.  Summer school will be offered at Dana for eligible students entering 6th and 7th grades during 2008-09.
• As required by law, Summer School will be offered to special education students that have “extended school year” marked on their IEP. A limited number of elementary and selected middle-level and high schools will hold Summer School. Summer School applications for eligible elementary students will be mailed directly to the families by the central office. The applicatioprocess for middle-level and high school students will be the same as prior years.
• Students failing 8th grade will have an opportunity to make up their course work at Roosevelt Middle School this summer.
