Community Bike Ride
Contact Nicole Burgess at [email protected] for all the details. Ride can begin at 8am in OB or meet at the Ferry terminal at the Broadway Pier, on Harbor Dr. at 9am. Event will ride the ferry (bring $3.50/person) and then ride south through IB and back around Chula Vista back to the Ferry terminal. Total miles = 24 all flat! Lunch upon return. Ride Accross California participant is organizing a Bayshore Bikeway ride for the Rancho YMCA Trailblazers on May 23. Trailblazers is a father son/daughter program run by the Y for kids in 5th grade and up. We organize a wide range of events including skiing at Mammoth, white water rafting, camping, backpacking, house-boating, and about one bike ride a year. Dana students are welcome to join in. Ride Details Date: Sunday May 23, 2010 Route: The Bayshore Bikeway around the San Diego Bay (http://www.sandag.org/uploads/projectid/projectid_63_10461.pdf). This is a 24 mile route estimated to take an adult about 2.5 hours going from the Ferry Terminal on Harbor Drive to Coronado. Start time: 9AM End Time: 1PM (or earlier) Start Location: Ferry Terminal on Harbor Drive in San Diego End Location: Coronado Lunch: On your own in Coronado although I will try to organize one or more groups as necessary. Recommended Parking: Harbor Island (880 Harbor Island Drive) - Will add a couple miles to the ride, but it is free and it is a very nice ride. Alternatively, you may park right next to the San Diego ferry terminal for about $10. Anyone may attend this event whether registered for Trailblazers at the Rancho Y or not. |
