“Picture Yourself a Pointer” PLHS Orientation Assembly and Tour

Picture Yourself a Pointer Day!

January 13, 2011 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – In the Big Gym

On January 13, 2011, PLHS will host the 4th annual Picture Yourself a Pointer Day. ALL local 8th graders are invited to come learn more about Point Loma High School by visiting with Pointer students and staff. Eighth-grade students will meet key staff, student leaders, tour the campus, participate in an activity, and view various performances by PLHS students. This is your chance to find out what it means to be a Point Loma Pointer.

9:30 a.m. Private school families arrive. Correia and Grant teachers and parents arrive by bus at PLHS. Cheer Squad and other Link Leaders welcome 8th graders as they disembark. . Students are escorted by NJROTC, Link Leaders, and ASB students to main gym. The PLHS band led by Mr. James Sepulvedo greets the students as they enter the main gym.

10:15 a.m. Campus Tours – ASB and Link Leaders lead tours that cover stadium field, small gym, softball field, main office, 100 & 200 buildings, library, PAC, cafeteria, and return to main gym.

 

10:50 a.m. Students assemble in main gym

10:55 a.m. Power Point Presentation led by ASB President

11:30 a.m. Cheer, Choir, & Band Performance

11:45 a.m. Dance Team Performance

11:50 a.m. Drama Performance

12:00 p.m. School Highlight Video – Presented by Anthony Palmiotto

12:15 p.m. Closure by Laurie Hurl and Bobbie Samilson

12:20 p.m. Private school families depart; Correia and Grant students are led back to buses by NJROTC, ASB, and Link Leaders

12:30 p.m. Students depart for Corriea and Grant
