Relay for Life Point Loma/OB

It's a 24 hour relay walk where teams of walkers take to a track in Liberty Station. There is great food, entertainment, and of course the key to it all are the survivors that attend our event. We treat them to a free breakfast in their honor and do a lot of special things for them throughout the day.

 

This entire fundraiser is put on by volunteers who live and work here and send their kids to school here! The American Cancer Society helps so many people - it's not just about the research which is so important but sometimes seems very far away - it's about taking care of our friends and neighbors - ACS has volunteers like me running kids camps, driving patients to their appointments, helping people undergoing chemo find wigs, and there are tons of support groups. ACS is an amazing resource and the Relay keeps them going.
