San Diego Unified School District is developing a Site Master Plan for Correia Middle School. The site master plan provides a road map for the near- and long-term growth and redevelopment of your school campus. It will also assist in planning the capital facilities bond projects for your school.

Input from parents, neighbors, school staff and students is vital to the success of this site master planning process. Therefore, we would like to invite you to participate in the second planning session listed below.

                            When: Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 6:00 p.m.
                            Where: Correia Middle School Library
4302 Valeta St., San Diego, CA 92107

The purpose of the Site Master Plan is to outline a logical, phased development or redevelopment of a campus, maximizing the site’s potential to meet the long-term goals of the school while best utilizing currently available funds. A long-term vision relating to the educational goals and community needs of each school will be used to develop a conceptual site layout that considers both short- and long-term needs.

The process for developing the school’s site master plan will consist of approximately four sessions, with representation from all school stakeholders. At the first meeting, there will be a presentation explaining the purpose for a school’s site master plan and the process for development. After the initial meeting, there will be approximately three work sessions to develop the site master plan.

Participating representatives are requested to make a commitment to attend all work sessions for plan development consistency. It is also requested that participants be committed to the development of a global long-term vision for the school. The process will focus on a general site plan concept and will not include details of specific projects. There will be an opportunity to provide input on capital facilities bond projects via a separate Design Task Force process.

We look forward to working with you to complete this vital task to develop your school site’s master plan. For additional information please contact Lynn Roxas, project manager, at [email protected] and (858) 573-5715.
