San Diego Unified School District is updating the Long-Range Site Master Plan for Point Loma High School. The site master plan provides a road map for the near- and long-term growth and redevelopment of your school campus. It will also assist in planning capital facilities bond projects at Point Loma High.

Input from parents, neighbors, school staff and students is vital to the success of this site master planning process. Therefore, we would like to invite you to participate in the planning sessions listed below.

Oct. 9, 2013 - Wednesday

Oct. 30, 2013  -Wednesday

Nov. 20, 2013 - Wednesday

Dec. 11, 2013 (if needed) - Wednesday

Where: Point Loma High School, Media Center
2335 Chatsworth Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92106

The purpose of the Long-Range Site Master Plan is to outline a logical, phased development or redevelopment of a campus, maximizing the site’s potential to meet the long-term goals of the school while best utilizing currently available funds. A long-term vision relating to the educational goals and community needs of each school will be used to develop a conceptual site layout that considers both short- and long-term needs.

The process for developing the school’s site master plan will consist of three to four sessions, with representation from all school stakeholders. At the first meeting, there will be a presentation explaining the purpose for a school’s long-range site master plan and the process for development. After the initial meeting, there will be approximately three work sessions to develop the site master plan.

Participating representatives are requested to make a commitment to attend all work sessions for consistency in plan development. It is also requested that participants be committed to the development of a global long-term vision for the school. The process will focus on a general site plan concept. It will not include details of specific projects. There will be an opportunity to provide input on specific capital facilities bond projects via a separate Design Task Force process.

We look forward to working with you to complete this vital task to develop your school site’s long-range master plan. For additional information please Lynn Roxas, project manager, at [email protected] and (858) 573-5715.

P.S. Feel free to forward this information to other interested parties.
