On Thursday, April 18, orchestra students from Dana Middle School, Correia Middle School, and Point Loma High School (PLHS) will play their hearts out to an energetic audience of parents and friends at the Peninsula Strings concert at the Point Loma High School gymnasium, for a concert celebrating the strings programs in our cluster schools.
Peninsula Strings began in 2010 when the strings programs demanded equal billing to the
Peninsula Winds concert that began under the leadership of Dell Schroeder with Band at the Beach, and the late Dan Nelson, Music Director at PNLU.

These concerts speak to the close collaboration between the instrumental music programs at the Point Loma Cluster schools. All of the instrumental music programs in the cluster have grown substantially under the direction of Ruben Flores at Dana Middle School, Marc Dwyer at Correia Middle School, and James Sepulvado at Point Loma High School.

Concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and takes place at the Point Loma High School gymnasium. We are pleased to have special guest Mayor Bob Filner on hand to witness what is possible when parents and the community choose to make instrumental music a priority in our schools.
