October Challenges for Healthy Choices
Walk, Ride, and Roll

As we try to minimize the traffic congestion around schools and our children, we encourage more parents to participate in walking, riding, carpooling, and taking transit that will help keep our communities safe and healthy. Challenge yourself and your students to make local commutes by bike or foot and experience your community in style.

Two important events taking place are:

Wednesday, October 8 - National Walk to School Day - We hope that all will participate either by foot or bike.
Ocean Beach Elementary will have goodies for participants as they arrive to school, while supplies last.

October 6-10 School Pool Challenge
Start tracking legible commutes for your school to compete for $$ for school supplies. One week challenge is based on participants that track walking, biking, carpool, or transit trips. The more people that log and track their trips, the better chance OBE has to win the challenge. Log in and track your trips all year long and receive other benefits through Sandag.
